Ear Surgeries
Patients having no or small ear, can benefit from ear reconstruction surgeries. A new ear can be made from patient’s own rib cartilage. This is a staged surgery where 3-4 surgeries are needed to shape the ear at an interval of 3- 6 months each. The best results are obtained when it is done in a younger age group. We can also place artificial ear framework when the rib cartilage is not appropriate.
Ear may have many other deformities like huge ears, bat shaped ears or curved ears etc. all types of ears can be corrected by plastic surgeons. Various techniques are available for the same.
